I’m a teacher, so during summer and breaks I have lots of free time. I have two boys, both of whom love animals. They would love to have a pet visit our home. I can only house-sit when I don’t have my children with me, but can board an animal anytime. Important to note that during the school year my Friday availability is evening only.

I have a fenced yard. At my home, I can almost guarantee your dog or cat would get to sleep in a child’s bed and be loved like family. At your home, I would respect any rules you have set.

Walks, playing with my kids (12 and 16), maybe brushing, maybe some fetch or tug of war, treats (with your permission). I try to let the dog set the plan as much as possible. An older dog may prefer a shorter walk. At the end of the day, my kids would love the dog to sleep in one of their rooms but mine is always available and it is the dog’s choice.

In my experience, cats are much more comfortable in their own homes, with visits from a caretaker person. I have had cats and been around cats all my life. I understand cats and won’t push them to be friendly if that’s not the cat’s personality. Kittens are another matter entirely. Please know that if they are destructive or high-energy, that is going to be a problem.

Johannah MacBain has cared for dogs and cats for many years. Caring for animals is always challenging however she has handled stressful situations with the deepest care and concern and she has my highest recommendation.
Johannah is a very responsible and loving person who has cared for many pets of mine over the years. She is capable and observant. Johannah has had pets of her own as well, and has looked after them well. She has experience with cats and dogs.
